Assistant Community Manager

Who We Are?

MCM Communities is looking for an enthusiastic and customer-centric Assistant Community Manager to join our team at our manufactured home communities in the Lansing area.

You will help lead the successful operations of the community. Our Assistant Managers perform responsibilities related to business operations, resident satisfaction, leasing activity, financial reporting, rent collection, and court proceedings. You will report to the Regional Operations Director.

The ideal candidate will have experience in property management and sales/customer service, be highly organized, have strong oral and written communication and computer skills, and shares our vision of excellence and customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Establish rapport with residents and prospective residents, field community comments, suggestions, and complaints, and forward to the appropriate manager
  • Prepare and distribute resident and community communications (i.e., rule reminders, violation notices, increase letters, delinquency notices, eviction paperwork, lease addendums and renewals)
  • Prepare resident statements and rent increases
  • Perform administrative functions including answering phones, typing, copying, faxing, and filing
  • Complete and maintain community records, reports, and files
  • Collect and post resident security deposits, processing fees, rents, inspection, or other fees, record in the proper accounts and issue receipts
  • Make collection calls for rental payments
  • Process move-ins and move-outs
  • Lease signing and new resident orientation
  • Process payments and post to property management software program

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years secretarial/administrative experience
  • 2-year Sales and/or Customer Service experience required
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent telephone skills
  • Great critical thinking skills
  • Professional appearance
  • Strong sales skills a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency with property management software, i.e., Rent Manager or SalesForce preferred but not required.

Job Type: Full-time Monday-Friday, may include select weekends

Pay: starting at $42,000 yearly based on experience
